I need help factoring- 5x^2(x-y)-10xy^3(y-x)^2

OpenStudy (amistre64):

take out what they have in common and leave in the rest...inside parranthesis

OpenStudy (amistre64):

theres a 5 and an x in common, and a (y-x)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

5x(y-x)(-x - 2y^3(y-x))

OpenStudy (amistre64):

that (x-y) is hiding a secret :) -1(y-x) = (x-y)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wat about ur previous doubt?

OpenStudy (radar):

You should check that very carefully. looking at the final answer you can see where \[2y ^{3}(y-x)\] would produce a \[2y ^{4}\]which was not in the original equation

OpenStudy (radar):

Never mind I see it now

OpenStudy (amistre64):

-5x^2(y-x) - 10xy^3(y-x)(y-x)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

:)

OpenStudy (radar):

I was not following the original equation thru! I'm learning

OpenStudy (amistre64):

....your learning and teaching....its a great combo

OpenStudy (amistre64):

it took me what...2 days to figure out what I was seeing wrong in one problem :)

OpenStudy (radar):

Yes this one has a lot of clutter (a radar term)
