need to use interval notation to indicate the domain!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

f(x)=\[f(x)=\sqrt{-7x+2.5}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ignore the first f(x) at the top..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well your value of x has to make sure that what's under the root isn't negative. So, -7x +2.5 > or = to 0. So, 7x > or = to 2.5, x>= 2.5/7. so, I'd say [5/14, + infinity)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait what I said doesn't make sense

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it says to round any decimals to two decimal places. Thanks! Since this is an online assignment I want to make sure to type it in correctly.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ha. I don't understand this section well so I didn't catch any errors.. hmm

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it has to be smaller than 5/14, not greater. Forgot to change the sign when I multiplied by -1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

0.36 is 5/14 rounded to 2 decimals

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry about the mistake before

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so 0.36 should be the answer? or .36? this online thing is really picky about correct format.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

interval notation would be (-infinity, 0.36]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't think I can type infinity. is there a sign for that or something?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry I'm so clueless.. and thanks for your help. I appreciate it!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\infty\] is the sign for infinity, just add a - in front of it for the negative. No Problem!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I realized that after I asked. Thanks!
