Use a calculator to approximate the SMALLEST solution to the equation 7:46x2 + 2:45x = 5:32 accurate to 6 decimal places

OpenStudy (radar):

My calculator doesn't have the : feature

OpenStudy (radar):

Are those snake bites or are they supposed to be decimals

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its supposed to be decimals

OpenStudy (radar):

Subtract 7.46 x 2 (14.92) from both sides of the equation getting: 2.45x = -14.92 + 5.32 = -9.6. The equation now appears as: 2.45x=-9.6 Divide both sides by 2.45 getting: x=-3.918367

{{x == -1.0245005558782643}, {x == 0.6960823253152615}}

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sir, can you help me with mathematical induction?

OpenStudy (radar):

I have only heard of it. Can't remember how it is actually done. where is your problem posted?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I haven't posted it yet,

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you would have been able to deal with it, then I would have given a try

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I posted it earlier, but got no help

OpenStudy (radar):

I was hoping someone could provide you some assistance. Is that sort like progressions, and sequencers etc.?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, then I must post it again.

OpenStudy (radar):

Good luck with that, and good morning to you. I've got an 8.00 am appointment with the dentist, so my day is not starting well LOL

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:)

OpenStudy (radar):

Dscribblez my answer was incorrect I see now that your probem is \[7.46x ^{2}+2.45x=5.32\]

OpenStudy (radar):

Be sure you round off to 6 decimal places. I believe His answers are correct, actually he is not ignorant lol. Although I did get his one answer the opposite sign. Use the quadratic equation and your calculator

OpenStudy (radar):

Always double check!
