I need help with reducing fractions omg
what's your question dear? ^_^
Well I tryied reducing the fraction for example to reduce 10/36 I would multiply 5*2=10 & 6*6=36 I dont know what I'm doing wrong
Reducing is dividing both top and bottom by a common factor. The only thing common is 2 giving you : 5/18
I still dont get it @ all. I understand that i need to divide both bottom & top. Explain more way's that I can learn this to make it short for me.
DO you have another example and I will help you work through it to better understand it?

Ok 30/45 How would I reduce This ?
ok so what is a common number that can go into both the numerator and denominator?
30/45 will be 2/3, get it?
right.... 30/45=2/3 to get that you can divide 30/5=6 45/5=9 your fraction now looks like 6/9 and this can be simplified even more! 3 goes into both 6 and nine evenly 6/3=2 9/3=3 your final simplified fraction and answer is:2/3
dear, to reduce means to simplify :) now what do we have here: 10/36 ask yourself this question, can you divide both by2? try them out 10/ 2 = 5 36/2 = 18 it gave us a whole number and not a decimal number, so the answer is yes, since both numbers are even :) then in this case, you can simplify by dividing top and bottom with 2 in this case and you'll get : 10/36 = 5/16 <-- simplified form ^_^ are you getting it now? :)
another example, simplify this : 9/27 now we can't divide these by 2 since they are not multiples of 2, but they are multiples of 3, so divide both by 3 and you'll get : 9/27 = 3/9<-- still not in simple form, so divide again : 1/3<--cannot be simplified more , stop :) ^_^better?
