this is a question that has been asked. The company discovered that it costs $30 to produce 2 widgets, $118 to produce 4 widgets, and $766 to produce 10 widgets. Using quadratic functions, find the cost of producing 6 widgets.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

consider a quadratic formula in the form: \[y=ax^2+bx+c\] where x is the number of widgets, and y is the cost of producing them, we have three points (2,30), (4,118) and (10,766).. substitute in the equation to find a, b and c..

when you find a, b and c, all you have to find the cost of producing 6 widgets is to substitute x=6 and find the value of y.. that value is the cost you're looking for.
