i forgot my limits, help me!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\lim_{x \rightarrow 0+}(lnx)/x\] im getting 1/0, so what should i do to get the answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Time for l'hopital's rule?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

isnt that rule only when u get infin/infin or 0/0?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nevermind XD you're making the error of plugging zero directly in for x. You need the right hand limit. That's going to be negative infinity (ln x as x approaches zero becomes negatively large and dividing that by an infinitely small number makes that number even larger and more negative)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if i plug in a small number to the right of X, should ln(x) equal a small number.. and dividing by a small number would give me a larger number/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nvm is a smaller neg number :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ln(x) should equal a large number that is also negative (you can check this by plugging in ln (.0000001) into your calculator

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yup, ty!
