Find the area of the region between the curves y = 2x^2 and y = 8, bounded from x = -2 to x = 1.
what level of math are you? high school or university?
universty Calculus
kk perfect, CALC 1? or CALC2?
1
theres 2 ways u can do it, the first is to use right end points and use bars on y axis instead of x axis, and then doing the same with elft endpoints, and averaging them out to get an approximate area.
i would use rectangles at each value of x (incremented), so at 1, 2,3,4,5,6,7,8.. did u see how to do that?
no
ok, so lets do it step by step. draw out ur graph, which is basically x^2, with every y value multiplied by 2.
then u draw rectangles (horizontally from every y value up to 8, where the top line ends at the curve,
do that on both sides, and remember ur restrictions (-2 --> 1)
do u have ur textbook? because it will explain with details and images how to do it in there, its very hard to explain without a diagram to show you.
I dont have one, but I am good at figuring things out when I have the answers, that makes math fun
k give me amin, ill give u the answer, and then go nuts.
^_^ Thanks
