What is perpendicular to 5/2 on slope
A perpendicular slope is the negative reciprocal. So flip the fraction (or divide 1 if it's not a fraction) and change the sign.
opposite reciprocal -2/5
So it would not be -5/2? I see that 9 would be -9 I see that -3 would be 1/3
Oh gee...wow, simple math..you can tell my brain is very fried. Okay, my fingers weren't working. So I"lm literally dividing 5/2 to change it to perpendicular. Wow...Thank you guys.
No, the slope perpendicular to a line having a slope of 5/2 would be a line with a slope -2/5. he slope perpendicular to a line having a slope of 9 would be a line with a slope -1/9.
And invert the sign
You don't divide, you exchange numerator and denominator and change the sign.
Oh, Okay, that is easier than. Thank you for explaining. I want to make sure I understand this stuff before midterms
