Consider the function f(x)=log base 10 of x. If f(x) is increased by one unit, x must have been increased by what factor? What is the ratio of x sub 1 to x sub 2 given that f(x sub 1)=3n and f(x sub 2)=n.

\[f(x)=\log _{a}x\] and in this case a=10 generally speaking a always equals 10 unless told otherwise. so lets say \[y=\log _{a} (x)\] \[a ^{y}=x\] so you know what a is so if you increase y by 1 then you get \[10 ^{1}\] I don't understanding what the second part is asking for but hopefully you can figure it out with what I gave you. good luck
