need help finishing up this quadratic equation!
\[-7y ^{2}+4y-2=0\]
I am at \[-4 + or - \sqrt{-40} \over -14\] Any one able to help me with where to go from here? and whether this is correct or not?
it doesn't look right since you suppose to have a real number. Can you please show us the original function.
I checked it and it's right. The only thing I can see to do is that radical... It would come out as 2 times the root of ten.
would the 2 and 10 be positive or negative?

okk awesome. Thanks. is the denominator positive 14 then? so my 2 answers would be, \[-4+ or - \sqrt{2i} over 14\] and the second answer would be the same, except root 10 instead of 2?
sorry, I just am not sure exactly what the answer should look like, i have to answer it in an online assignment and i wanna make sure to get the right format

since theres a negative number i assume so
i'm not quite sure but i'd say since there's an imaginary number in there, it's nonreal.
