How do you get the GCF and the LCM for 40 and 18?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The GCF of 40 and 18 is 2 The LCM of 40 and 18 is 360

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you so much...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you show me how you got that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok for 40 you have: 2,4, 5,10 for 18 you have, 2,3,6,9, 18 so the only number you have in common there is 2 so that is the gcf ok for lcm multiply 40 and 18 and you get 720 divide that by your gcf you get 360
