Which of the following are examples of descriptive statistics? A. Flipping a coin 100 times to see if it is fair B. Displaying sales data in a bar graph C. Finding the mean of the prices of the cars for sale at a car dealer D. Using the age distribution data in a frequency table to construct a histogram E. Testing a random sample of the fish at a pet store to see if they are healthy

I know nothing about statistics. Everything I know about probabilities comes from the combinatorial section of my discrete math class. Sorry

i think c,d,&e but not Sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I would say B,C and D. Not entirely sure though.

I agree with Anwar. Descriptive statistics doesn't aim to make inferences. A and E seek to make conclusions about the coin fairness (say the sample is 100 flips with the population being infinitely many flips) and population fish health

Yeah. My understanding is that descriptive statistics are what describe the collected data. That includes features like mean, median and graphs.

yupp , you riqht i just read about it .
