i HAVE A PROBLEM AM TRYING TO GET THE CORRECT ANSWER

OpenStudy (anonymous):

S=pie(1.5)\[\sqrt{(1.5)^2+(4)^2}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5.5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(1.5+4)^(2/2) 1.5+4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats not correct the S= (PIE SIGN) and (1.5) go with the equation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sara what is the question? write out the whole equation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

s=(3.14)(1.5)\[\sqrt{(1.5)^2+(4)^2}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the s= part goes with the equation its not ontop like its displaying

OpenStudy (mattfeury):

like this?: \[3.14 * 1.5 * \sqrt{(1.5)^2+(4)^2}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

which part do you not understand? exponents? square root?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got 20.13 but then I di it again and got 20.11 so im confused

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The answer to four decimal places is 20.1313

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok .. how did you get that so I can do my others correctly?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3.14 is not the exact value of pi that's probably the cause of your error

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hit the \[\pi\] on your calculator instead of typing 3.14

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I cant use a calculator for these so I need to learn how to do them correctly

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well if that's the case i'm sure your 20.11 value is correct enough. I'm sure your teacher doesn't expect you to memorize pi to 20 digits
