i need help with 15x^4-14x^2+3=0

Funny numbers. If they don't work, use the old quadratic equation.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's not a quadratic, so you cannot use quadratic equation (a quadratic has a power of 2 as the highest power). There is no (elementary) formulaic way of solving this problem. You have to be creative. (I need to think, I'm not sure yet what the solution is.)

Pull \[x^{2}\] out; solve for x

Hint: \[3 - 14 x^2 + 15 x^4 = (-1 + 3 x^2) (-3 + 5 x^2) \]

Hint: \[3 - 14 x^2 + 15 x^4 = (-1 + 3 x^2) (-3 + 5 x^2) \]
