Ik its not math but there isnt anyone in the english room... :P Lenny bent toward the green, moss-covered hill. He plucked a few berries, tasted the tart sweetness on his tongue, and let the sun shine on his face. He knew this warmth would not last much longer. A. Foreshadowing B. Imagery C. Metaphor D. Plot

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think its both a and b but i can only choose one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

metaphor i think

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i hate english

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think its b because it describes what he's feeling and tasting... its almost like you can also taste and see it..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes i thought so too!! but then the last sentence shows foreshadowing so i was lost :P

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

berries +sweetness = imagery :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is A. he foreshadows it would not last longer. The other stuff is description. Imagery is not precisely description

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhh i see thx!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I agree with foreshadowing because he is perciving something that hasn't took place yet

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well thats true also.... im not the best at English, just trying my best (:

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

haha thats why i dont tutor english

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright then its 2 over 1 anybody else?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but i still say its imagery.... but im no teacher.. (;

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do the directions say? because imagery and forshadowing could both be right.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What literary device is the following an example of?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats the directions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh man that wasn't very helpful

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ikr lol!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

imagery deals with describing things with your imagination. Description is just describing the facts. Here, the facts are being described. It is not imagery.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then its settled i will put foreshadowing and i will tell u when i get dun in like 15 if tht was rite ^^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

alrighty? :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay actually it seems I was right and wrong. some dictionaries say imagery is to evoke emotions and sensations in the reader based on description.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its imagery

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hey, your question asked which literary device was used: I think Imagery is a literary device, not foreshadowing. So I would go with Imagery

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ah I can't make up my mind. Seems foreshadowing is also a literary device. Sorry cant be of much help lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

they are all literary devices

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay, well I wouldn't know.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

she should go with imagery

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nevermindddddd

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i just went with foreshadowing bc more people told me to go with that but we'll ll learn wat the answer is whenever im dun!! ^^ it auto corrects it ^^

OpenStudy (anonymous):
