what is the equivalent fractions for 2/3?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hi im in the third grade and im having trouble with fractions thanks alot for your help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:-)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No problem. Just multiply the top number and the bottom number by the same value, and you can make all the fractions you want. For the answer I gave, I multiplied by 2, then 3, then 4.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh thanks for your help fraction is confusing me ok if i have 1/4 i can multiply it to by 2 then 3 then 4 too?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, so: 1/4 = 2/8 when multiplied by 2 3/12 when multiplied by 3 4/16 when multiplied by 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And you could go on forever. So, 100/400 is equivalent as well or 2000/8000

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wow those are bigger numbers ok im going to try this its looking alot easier now than wen my teacher explain to me i have to pass my math test or my mom is going to take my ps3 away :-(
