distance between (5, pi/2) and (2, -7pi/6)???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What level of math are you? There are several routes depending on where you are.

pre calculus

OK, when you get to calculus this is a good problem for vectors, for now perhaps convert from polar coordinates to rectangular coordinates, then distance formula. Now, what you have is (r, theta). To get rectangular x=r cos theta, y=r sin theta.

thank you i appreciate it

:)

so would the x and y coordinates come out to (0, 5)?
