A student took a test composed of 20 questions, with correct answers worth 2 points. If the student received 38 points for his grade, how many questions were correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh come now, meghan, you can do this!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

each correct answer is worth 2 points. so how many correct answers do you need to get 4 points?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

imagine you have 38 dollars. one candy bar costs 2 dollars. how many candy bars can you buy with your 38 dollars?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

19

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't know why with math I try to make things harder than what they are. It's like I still have a fear of math. It's been 8 years since I was in hs and had math and that fear seems to stay with you.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

don't fear it :) face it and all will be well ^_^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

take your time and look at the problem from different angles :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

heh. all you have to do with math is break the problem into smaller, easier parts. or write the problem in a different way. its all about following small, logical steps.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

to reach the bigger step ~

OpenStudy (anonymous):

exactly!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

^_^

The only thing I didn't score High on for my entry test for college was math. everything else was a great score. I am just going to have overcome my fear of math.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

exactly, it'll take time, but walk the whole way!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Baby steps. Thank you to both of you.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you are welcome.

OpenStudy (anonymous):
