My problem is actually y= -2/3x+5 x being -1 can someone show me how to work this please

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You just plug the -1 in for x in the equation. So y is equal to -2/3*(-1)+5. So y=17/3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how did you get 17/3?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-2/3*-1 is equal to 2/3. When you had that to 5 (which is equivalent to 15/3, right?) you end up with 17/3.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so I multiply 3*-1 then add 5..I am in 7th grade and have a test tomorrow..I really need it broken down and explained if you can please..I am sorry.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

where are you getting 15/3 and 17/3
