OpenStudy (needhelp):

how to do derivative of y= (x^2 + 10x + 25)^1/2 thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

help me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Chain rule it. Derivative of the whole quantity multiplied by the derivative of the inside.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You have to use the chain rule here. First, take the derivative of the inside function, and multiply it by the derivative of the outside function, behaving as though the (x^2+10x +25) is simply a large x.

OpenStudy (needhelp):

i got the answer of 1/2(2x+10)^-1/2 * (x^2 +10x +25) is this correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Almost, you have the insides flipped though. The first part you leave the inside the same. Then you multiply all that by the derivative of the inside.
