arcsec(sec pi) - without using tables or calculators

OpenStudy (amistre64):

\[\sec^{-1}(\sec(\pi))\]

OpenStudy (amistre64):

cos cot sec are up top..... so it shuold be pi

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the domains of cos, cot, and sec are from 0 to pi...the top part of the unit circle; so we just get pi back as the result of your problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay, thanks. Is it possible for you to show the steps? I'm being graded for working too..

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the steps; hmm..... sec^-1(sec(pi)) sec^-1(-1) = pi I really dont know what "steps" the grader is looking for.

You me both, lol. Thanks! :)
