myininaya (myininaya):
rsin(theta)=2
OpenStudy (anonymous):
what's r and theta
myininaya (myininaya):
r is the the directed distance from the origin and theta is angle starting from the initial ray
OpenStudy (anonymous):
how do i find the direction and the theta?
myininaya (myininaya):
plug in values for thetha to see what r would be for each thetha

myininaya (myininaya):
just like you would do to f(x)=2 plug in values for x to see what y would be
OpenStudy (anonymous):
i'm so confused...
myininaya (myininaya):
which we know is a horizontal line because y doesn't change no matter x we put in
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yes
myininaya (myininaya):
how are you confused? just plug in values for thetha like you would x

so f(2)=2
OpenStudy (anonymous):
something like that
myininaya (myininaya):
yes
OpenStudy (anonymous):
the answer would than be 4?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
or do i divide?

myininaya (myininaya):
? i don't understand what you are doing?
i thought you were just showing an example of plugging in somthing for x
myininaya (myininaya):
hey loco i'm scanning something for you
myininaya (myininaya):
myininaya (myininaya):
loco polar coordinates should be easy.
why are you making it so difficult
lol
myininaya (myininaya):
the most inner circle on that graph is radius 1
the second most inner circle is radius 2

myininaya (myininaya):
and so on
OpenStudy (anonymous):
i tend to make things more difficult than they already are.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Thanks so much for your help :)
myininaya (myininaya):
do you understand what I did
OpenStudy (anonymous):
somewhat, but i'll get it i got rest of the night :P

myininaya (myininaya):
are you having trouble graphing or plotting polar points?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
both
myininaya (myininaya):
do you know your ti83 if you have one can graph polar equations
OpenStudy (anonymous):
we can't use calculators in any math classes at my college
OpenStudy (anonymous):
i'm trying to do it without them

and i don't know how to do it on them because we never learned
myininaya (myininaya):
neither did i until just now
i was like can this even graph polar equations
and i was like cool
myininaya (myininaya):
it really helps if you know the unit cirlce
do you know the unit circle
in fact you cant do this without the unit circle
OpenStudy (anonymous):
i'm still trying to remember it. i know most of it but mix up some of the numbers sometimes
myininaya (myininaya):
here is a couple of plotted polar coordinates
