\[5/6 \div 1/3\]
OpenStudy (anonymous):
write it in the group chat
OpenStudy (anonymous):
5/6 x 1/3's resipricle which is 3/1.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so 5 times 3 is...
OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, 3 divided by 2/3
OpenStudy (anonymous):
i know u have to put the 3 over the 1
OpenStudy (anonymous):
okay so now you have to turn the 3 to a fraction
OpenStudy (anonymous):
what is three as a fraction?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
hmm, uhmmmm, 3/1 right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):
yes, so 3/1 times 2/3's resipricle. what is 2/3's resipricle?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
3/2, right?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yes, and then you have to multiply it so it would equal 9/2 right.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yes! you got it! any more problems?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
alot, its quiz corrections lol.

OpenStudy (anonymous):
oh, okay
OpenStudy (anonymous):
bring it! lol
OpenStudy (anonymous):
1 2/3 divided by 6
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so now you have to turn the mixed number (1 2/3) into an improper fraction(for example 4/2)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
do you know how to do that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):
noo i always get confused on that. D;
OpenStudy (anonymous):
okay so first you get the denominator (in this case, 3) and multiply it by the number thats on its own (in this case, 1).
OpenStudy (anonymous):
what would you get?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
3?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yes, then you get 3 and add it to the numerator (in this case, 2)

6?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
3+2 is 5
OpenStudy (anonymous):
woops i mean 5, lol
OpenStudy (anonymous):
lol its ok
OpenStudy (anonymous):
sorry i thought it was 3x2

OpenStudy (anonymous):
then you get 5 and make it the numerator on your new fraction and then get the denominator from the mixed number (3), so your new fraction is 5/3.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
now take 6 and make it a fraction.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
and then make 6/1 a resipricle. so then you finally do the problem. 5/3 x 1/6 =...?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
5/18
OpenStudy (anonymous):
is that in its simplest form?

OpenStudy (anonymous):
yes
OpenStudy (anonymous):
good job! now make 5/18 a mixed number. do you know how to do that?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
noo.. ;[
OpenStudy (anonymous):
okay. ill teach you, but its a little harder.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
okay.

wait wait wait, you're done! 5/18 is not an improper fraction so there is no point in making it a mixed number.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
ohhh.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
okay well I have to go. goodbye, hope you do good on your test! :)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
oops i mean quiz
OpenStudy (anonymous):
wait, the answer to 5/6 divided by 1/3 is not 5/2
