need help : 3x^3-5x^2+10x-3/3x+1
looks like you have to do it long division style
Depends what the question asks in relation to the equation. Looks to me like it might need deriving. Possibly factorising. Care to elaborate Dara?
Do you know how to do long division?
I don't know how to do this, they just ask to devide this polynomial equation
it is like long dividing regular numbers only you use 3x+1 | 3x^3-5x^2+10x-3, so the first element of answer becomes x^2. (3x+1)(x^2) = 3x^3 +x^2, so you write this under the polynomial and subtract it like you would an integer. -9x^2 remains, bring down the 10x, so the next element is -3x, multiply it so on and so forth. When you come to the end and have a remainder, it is added to the answer as + r/3x+1. You should be alright.
