3/x-4+2/x+4=14/(x+4)(x-4)
well first thing is first.. your gonna wanna multiply both sides by (x+4)(x-4)
why you ask? well think about what happens when you do that. what disappears?
(x+4)(x-4) disappear
right, the (x+4)(x-4) disappears on the Denominator. now lets first look at the left hnd side of the equation. Multiply both 3/(x-4) and 2/(x+4)by that
whats that give you?
i have to find the value of x
I am aware of this. we are getting there
9
let me check the answer real quick i actually didnt work it out..
ok
eh not what im getting
what is 3/(x-4) * (x-4)*(x+4)
o
and what is 2/(x+4)*(x+4)(x-4)
eh no not 0...
i dont know it
if you have something like x/x that gives you the numerical value of 1. why? because think about it - its saying hey look i have x items to choose from and i have to divide it out in x number of ways.
im not gonna just give you an answer. I dont believe in just giving out answers and letting people skim by their courses... its bullpellet
gonna make sure you understand it first
no i want you to explain it to me
hmm ok. this isnt going to cut it i have a neat program to show you how it works... http://www.scriblink.com/index.jsp?act=phome&roomid=374&KEY=F9379C0246105A3314E20F1DB1DC4206
its an online whiteboard hopefully your internet connection is good enough to handle it
it dont work
ok im on it now
