How is this result formed? g(x)=8x-3 I have the answer key showing it setup as g(x+h)-g(x) 8x+8h-3-(8x-3) ---------- -------------- h h
That's the difference quotient of g(x)
i think i see now. let me see if i can explain how im figuring this out without making it more confusing. the 8x+8h-3 is result of plugging in (x+h) in the x spot for 8 -3 and the (8x-3) is there because it is the value of g(x). Am i close or getting even further away from the correct way of doing this problem.
Yes that's correct.
Phew thank god. I have to have this and more down solid for my final on monday. Thanks for your help
g(x+h)-g(x) ----------= h 8(x+h)-3-(8x-3) -------------- h 8x+8h-3-8x+3 ------------- h
8h -- answ. h
