Why is (Triangle)SUN ~ (triangle)TAN? r = ? , s = ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

r=13 and s=20

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the answer is that (triangle)letter ~ (triangle)letter and how did u find r and s??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

see the angles N in both triangles are equal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea i noticed it so TAN and USN??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

angles in the same segment of a circle are equal remmbr???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

same with the third pair hence the triangles are similar

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it because of SAS~conj.?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no uve got only one side in one of the triangles..so wt im saying is the AAA

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got answer for r and s but i need to see how it got them?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

see now we come to that part

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

see in 2 similar triangles..the ratios of corresponding sides are equal...so like if ABC is similar to DEF then AB/DE = BC/EF= AC/DF

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so thats how we got the two values r and s

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can u put the number in that problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah w8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank

OpenStudy (anonymous):

18/36=r/26=s/40

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so s/40=18/36 right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

bingo...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank so much ^_^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no probs...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i need to go my next class now bye
