Does it not give you the degree of the central angle?
OpenStudy (momo):
well, it's a circle...i'm not sure. i will set the problem as my profile picture lol

You can attach File... located at the bottom of where you post instead...
OpenStudy (momo):
oh okay :D

What are you trying to find?
OpenStudy (momo):
arcEDC
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Is this a unit circle?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Look at the angle made up from Arc AB. There is a vertical angle equal to that angle made from Arc ED.... Do you see that those two are equal?
OpenStudy (momo):
they are both 50?

yep
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Yes so the arc EDC that you are trying to find is a total of 90 degrees.
The arc length is found by multiplying the degrees (90) times the radius. I don't know what your radius is...
OpenStudy (momo):
it doesn't give me a radius...hmmm
OpenStudy (momo):
i could give you the multiple choice answers?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Yes

45pi
45
5pi/2
5pi
OpenStudy (momo):
sorry, i didn't find the pi symbol. and the 3rd one is a fraction
OpenStudy (amistre64):
this one?
OpenStudy (momo):
yep :)
OpenStudy (momo):
i have an attachment in it

If AD=10, find the length of arcEDC
OpenStudy (momo):
oh awesome! thanks :D
OpenStudy (anonymous):
5 * pi/2
OpenStudy (momo):
oh, wait sorry, 90 isn't an option

OpenStudy (amistre64):
again; without any knowledge of the radius, there is no way to solve an arclength for this; so its most likely an angle
OpenStudy (momo):
jonknet, yours is an option
OpenStudy (anonymous):
convert degrees to radians
OpenStudy (momo):
yeah amistre64 it is difficult
OpenStudy (amistre64):
yes; radian measures....its good to know what the real question is :)

r=5. theta = 90pi/180 = pi/2. multiply out.
OpenStudy (amistre64):
r = 5? wheres that at?
OpenStudy (momo):
oh thank you so much!!!
OpenStudy (anonymous):
AD = 10
OpenStudy (amistre64):
i see no 10 lol
