What are the x- and y-intercepts of the line? 2x – 3y = –12

OpenStudy (amistre64):

what do you believe they are?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

or you just want someone to do your homeowrk for you?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i believe in the latter

OpenStudy (amistre64):

what ARE intercepts?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah tell us

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that would be nice but its not for me this is algerbra im in geometry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i fergot

OpenStudy (amistre64):

its not for you?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nope

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the intercepts are when the graph crosses the y or the x axis; the axis intercepts the pass

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the only time one axis can intercept the pass is when the other one is gone.....

OpenStudy (amistre64):

so when x=0; what is the y intercept? when y=0 what is the x intercept?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

2(0) – 3y = –12 y = ? ---------------- 2x – 3(0) = –12 x = ?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

-3y= -12; y=?? 2x= -12 ; x=??

OpenStudy (amistre64):

how do we solve these?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idont know anymore

OpenStudy (amistre64):

when did you know?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

how do you forget multiplication as basic as this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

bcoz uv bin finding ppl to do it fr u i guess

OpenStudy (amistre64):

your in geometry and cant multiply? i find that hard to believe :)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

math doesn abandon numbers till you get into set theory lol
