I'm not sure I need mid-points here but I believe I do. This is a statistics problem about finding expectation value and standard deviation from a frequency distribution. The distribution is a range of ages. Starting at Under 13, next to 13-14, and continuing onwards 15-19, 20-24, etc. up until 60-64 and Over 65. The Age groups are for # of AIDS cases. For ex Under 13 has 9112 AIDS cases. - Don't I need an Upper Class Limit/Boundary for 65? Or am I thinking too deeply into this? THE QUESTIONS ARE: Is this a normal distribution, why? and Find the standard deviation and expectation value from the frequency distribution. Also, if an age is selected at random, what is the probability it is between 22 and 47? Chart below: AGE - AIDS CASES 00-12 - 9112 13-14 - 1065 15-19 - 5289 20-24 - 34795 25-29 - 114141 30-34 - 193926 35-39 - 208505 40-44 - 164697 45-49 - 102732 50-54 - 56950 55-59 - 30424 60-64 - 16493 65+ - 14503 Any help reminding me how this is put together and organized would be appreciated. This is for Final Review and I haven't done this since the beginning of the semester so I forgot most of it.
