A student proposed the following method of sketching the solution to a system of two inequalities. “First, I shade the region of points that satisfies the first inequality. Then, I shade the region of points that satisfy the second inequality. The solution consists of all points that have been shaded.” Do you agree? Explain. Support your answer using the system: 5x-3y>1 and 3x+4y<=18
If it's a system of inequalities, that means that both inequalities must be satisfied. And the problem has you shading the areas that satisfy one or the other, but not necessarily both. So no, that's not a valid method. The actual region that satisfied the inequality is the bit that gets shaded twice.
Ok that's what I thought cause I had that but I was marked wrong...weird
Thanks for helping though.
Sure thing.
the word 'and' is of importance there right? ir means what they have in common
the answer is false; because it includes any solutions from either set; and that would be 'OR'
right makes sense I was just checking cause I think the online answer key that checks my quizzes is wrong.... I was like this is an easy question and I still got it wrong! lol I'll talk to my teach about it.
which of these factors is a physical obstcale to communication; noise, race, and 2 others that were pointless. the correct answer out of the book was 'noise'; but the quiz marked it wrong and said 'race' lol
ha ha ya don't you just love when that happens! ha ha NOT.. It's more like are you serious right now lol
