(3x^2+4x-10)/(x+2)=3x-2 with remainder -6/(x+2)
Can you show how you got that?
In the (x+2) part x goes into (3x^2) 3x times. Multiply 3x times x and you get 3x^2 and multiply 3x times 2 and you get 6x. Now subtract (3x^2+6x) from (3x^2+4x) and you get -2x and bring the -10 down. Now x in the x+2 goes into (-2x) -2 times. Multiply -2 times x and you get -2x and multiply -2 times +2 and you get -4. Again you do a subtraction. Subtract (-2x-4) from (-2x-10) and you get a remainder of -6. As a fraction -6 is shown as -6/(x+2).
