x^2 <= 3 -2x I factored and got: (x-1)(x+3)<=0 now what?
now draw a line of numbers, mark -3 and 1 on it. If you are at -infinity till -3 then both factors are negative. Between -3 and 1 x-1 is negative x+3 is positive. After 1 both are positive. Now when will you get something lower than 0? When you multiply -*+ (-*-=+, +*+=+) So the answer is x is greater/equal than -3 and lower/equal than 1.
I wrote so much just to illustrate my method, but you can do it differently too.
[-3,1] right?
sure :)
i was gonna write a sequal to your novel, but..... ;)
This was how my favourite teacher taught me! :-)
is this all for my question?
i learned it that way as well...
alot easier than trying to keep track of it in your head :)
it is always worth making some kind of drawing, helps a lot
