Given the quadratic equation: -2x^-3x+4=0 Use the quadratic formula to solve for the roots.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a = -2, b = -2 and c = 4. Put those numbers into the quadratic formula and simplify

I'm puzzled! don't know what to do!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(-b +/- sq rt (b^2 -4ac) )/ 2a

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2 +/- sq rt (4 - 4(-2)(4)) all of that divided by 2(-2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2 +/- sq rt (36) all divided by -4 (2 +/- 6) divided by -4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so work out : (2 + 6) / -4 (2 - 6) / -4
