You can always solve these kind of problems by solving the above equation =0 You can do that by this formula: \[(-b \pm \sqrt{b ^{2}-4ac})/2\] where ax^2+bx+c=0 So here: a=3 b=2 c=-8

so it is -2+-sqrt100/6 that is -2 and 4/3 So the factor is 3(x+2)(x-4/3)
