I need help with this √(2)+√(8) what would be all of the steps in completing this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\sqrt{8}\] can be written as \[2\sqrt{2}\] because 2 x 4 =8. If you factor the 8 into \[\sqrt{2} and \sqrt{4}\] it reduces to whats above.. you should be able to solve from here

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what would i do then?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[3\sqrt{2}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just add them together.. what elecengineer said

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\sqrt{2} + 2\sqrt{2} = 3\sqrt{2}\]
