you mean like 1x/2 and 2x/3?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
like this...
8 and 1/4 subtracted by 2 and 2/3.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
ok
1/4 can be multiplied to 3/12 and 2/3 can be multiplied to 8/12 see now they have same denominator and ur problem is 8 and 3/12 minused by 2 and 8/12
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so u get 5 and 5/12

8 3/12 <- borrow one from 8; borrow(12/12)
2 8/12
-------
7 15/12
2 8/12
--------
5 7/12
OpenStudy (anonymous):
if you had 6/12 then u cld make 1/2 but u cant devide 5 by anything but 5 and 1 and 12 is devisable by 5
