false point method? dont they call that Newtons approximation?

x^5 -5x +1; if we pick x=2 perhaps; then we want the equation of the tangelnt line at x=2 (2,23) 5(2)^4 -5 = 75 23 - 7(2) = b y = 75x + 9 = 0 when x = -75/9 = -8' 1/3 did I do it right?
you have to use the function of 1 and 0 because they have opposite signs and therefore straddle the root, a line is constructed inbetweeen them to get a new approximation of x, but what you did for newton raphsons method is right! :) im not sure if my workings are correct...
