bayside insurance offers two health plans.under a giselle would have to pay the first 170 plus 40% of the rest. under plan b giselle would pay the first 230 but only 30% of the rest. for what amount of medical bills will giselle save money on plan b? assume she has 230 in bills round to the nearest whole number

You would have to do these two plans separately and then compare how much she pays for each plan. Plan A - She pays the first $170, so you subtract that from $230 to get the rest, which is $60. You then get 40% of that to get $15. Here, she would have paid the first $170 and the additional $15, totalling to $185. Subtract $185 from $230 to find her savings, which would be $45. Plan B - She pays the first $230, so you subtract that from her bill of $230. There's nothing left to apply 30% to, so there is no additional cost. She pays $230 with Plan B, which would be a $0 savings.
