Use the quadratic formula to solve the following quadratic equation. Clear the fractions. Identify values for a,b, & c. Show steps in substituting into the quadratic formula and simplify your answers. Leave solutions in radical form. 1/3y^2+2=2/3y

OpenStudy (amistre64):

so what are your best guesses for a b and c

i can't view what you posted. It is covered up by the "good answer" symbol?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

it must be a good answer then lol :)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

first step they tell you is to get rid of fractions; multiply at all by 3 to do that: y^2 +6 = 2y Now put it in a normal quadratic form of Eq=0 by -2y from both sides: y^2 -2y +6 = 0 this is in the quadratic form of ax^2 + bx + c; now just tell them the numbers that correspond to a b and c

After I plug this in I come up with 1+i square root 5 or 1-i square root 5. Does this sound correct?
