first step they tell you is to get rid of fractions; multiply at all by 3 to do that: y^2 +6 = 2y Now put it in a normal quadratic form of Eq=0 by -2y from both sides: y^2 -2y +6 = 0 this is in the quadratic form of ax^2 + bx + c; now just tell them the numbers that correspond to a b and c
After I plug this in I come up with 1+i square root 5 or 1-i square root 5. Does this sound correct?
