\(15x^2-10xy-6xy+4y^2\) \(5x(3x-2y)-2y(3x-2y)\) \((5x-2y)(3x-2y)\)
can you please explain how you got that? it confuses me so much i cant stand these kinds of problems but i really need to understand it finals are tomorrow
It is the same method of factoring trinomial. FIrst look at the 15 and the 4. The product of the two is 60. Then think of two numbers so that the product is 60 and the sum is -16. The two numbers are -10 and -6. So split the -16xy into -10xy and -6y. From there you do factoring by grouping.
ok i get that part perfectly but how to you go about spliting up your variables?
