Which set of lengths cannot form a right triangle? a. 12 mm, 16 mm, 20 mm c. 7 mm, 8 mm, 10 mm B. 6 mm, 8 mm, 10 mm d. 3 mm, 4 mm, 5 mm

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the second row

OpenStudy (anonymous):

c. 7 mm, 8 mm, 10 mm

OpenStudy (anonymous):

72 +8^2 does not equal 10^2 , pythagorus doesnt hold

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a,b,c

OpenStudy (shadowfiend):

For each one, check that a^2 + b^2 = c^2. If it does, it can be a right triangle. If not, it can't. There are two that can and two that can't be right triangles above.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

^ there is only row that is isnt pythagorean triad, and thats the second row ( which for some strange reason is labelled c )

OpenStudy (shadowfiend):

Yes, sorry, you're right. Math fail when checking a :)
