Solve the formula for x:
Which formula brah.
That might help, haha.
\[T=5((x-2)/4)+1\]
obviously the x-2 is over the 4 I just dunno how to write that on here
is T just another variable, or what? It should be 4((T-1)/5)+2=x
Makes sense how I did it, or do you want me to explain?
T is just the equaling variable
whoa how did you get that???
Okayyy. So you have the T=whatever, right. You know that if you subtract one from both sides you're effectively doing nothing, right? So it becomes T-1=4(x-2)/5 Then you can divide both sides by 5 to rid yourself of the 5 on the x's side. That gives you (T-1)/5)=4(x-2) then you multiply both sides by 4. and you get 4(T-1)/5
and so on. Makes sense? If you still have questions I can try to answer it better on msn or something.
you skips a bunch of steps. why did you switch the places of the 4 & 5?
oh did I, that was probably a typo. I'll type it out in full. Give me a second.
T=5((x−2)/4)+1 T-1=5((x−2)/4) (T-1)/5=((x−2)/4) 4(T-1)/5=x-2 (4(T-1)/5)-2=x
I'm just unsure what you don't understand :) sorry, if you still don't get it I'll try again
well why dont you multiply 5 into (x-2) to = 5x-10?
You do. Except that's expanding the equation and it would make it harder to work with. If you did that you'd have to then do 5x/4-10/4+1=T 5x-6/4=T 5x=T+3/2 x=(T+3/2)/5
both should be correct... I think
where did the 4 go under the 5x? shouldnt it be 5x-10 all over 4?
Yeah. 4x/4-10/4. I just split it into two fractions to make it more malleable. Math is so hard to explain typing ):
