first off this is a polynomial but do you just need this factored? the equation you have entered has too many variables to be solved off one equation

aa ok to factor this you simply have (x+2)(x-1) so when they are multiplied together -1x is added to the 2x giving the 1x in the original and then -1*2 = -2 and x*x=x^2

it helps if you focus on multiplying factors of the last part of the equation (in this case the -2) that add into the 2nd part (the x)
