14x^3-35x^2+18x-45 Factor by grouping I got the answer that like looks like the problem is that right
what's grouping? so many questions so few answers
looks like you can use 5 and 2 to start with..
(14x^3+18x)+(-35x^2-45)
2x(7x^2 +9) +-5(7x^2+9)
(2x-5) (7x^2+9) then
I think grouping mean taking the polynomial and grouping them together and solved I am not sure that is what I am here for is to get help with my math.

Hi Collegegirl2010, Factoring by grouping is tricky because there is no unique way to proceed. It is pretty my trying this and that and hopefully you see how the expression factors out. It is not easy to explain it, it is easier to show and after seeing a few examples you start to get the idea. The key step is grouping. But again, there are very many ways to group -- you have to use your intuition -- after a few problems you will see what to do. amistre64 showed how to do this example. Just try to follow the steps and check if the steps make sense. then try to repeat those steps on a different example. Hope this helps

Grouping in this arena means taking groups of elements of the expression and foctorise them. They are well grouped already to do so. 14x^3-35x^2+18x-45 when grouped becomes ... (14x^3-35x^2)+(18x-45 ) now factorise each bracket 7x^2(2x - 5) + 9(2x - 5) (2x - 5) is a clear factor and the other one is construcrted from the elements outside of brackets ... (7x^2+ 9) giving the final answer ... (2x - 5)(7x^2+ 9) I hope that is clear for you.
