how can I solve the following inequality 36x^2 +7 < 11?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

-7 and /36

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well just do that : 36x^2 < 18 x * x < 18 / 36 x * x < 1 / 2

OpenStudy (amistre64):

x^2 < 4/36 ; sqrt it x < +- 2/6

OpenStudy (amistre64):

might have to adjust the sign lol

Sometimes Im a little bit crazy. I was substracting 11-3 and I got 3 haha. It is clear guys.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sometimes I mess up with small things like substracting two numbers

By the way, what happens if after adding and substracting terms in the expression I get something like 36x^2>3. I you can see there is not way of factoring it out...
