what is complex number ,can anyone explain?
A complex number consists of a real and an imaginary part. The real part is simply a regular number. The imaginary part is a multiple of i such that i^2=-1. These numbers have been 'invented' so that certain equations e.g x^2=-16 can be solved.
Here is a great set of notes: http://tutorial.math.lamar.edu/Extras/ComplexPrimer/ComplexNumbers.aspx And here is a superb video: http://patrickjmt.com/complex-numbers-multiplying-and-dividing/ Hope this helps!
Generally speaking, wikipedia math articles are not written for an audience who is not familiar with math. In other words, DON'T read the wikipedia article until you are very familiar with complex numbers. It will probably come across as confusing and overwhelming :)
thank u guys
