your paper doesnt show :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you cant view my paper?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

\[x \ne -3,10\] \[x=3,-10\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nope

OpenStudy (mathteacher1729):

1/2 of 360 is not 360. You didn't distribute. Also, props for very neat handwriting and nice layout of your work! :D

OpenStudy (amistre64):

you factored it fine; but (x-3) = 0 when x=3 ; (x+10) = 0 when x=-10

OpenStudy (amistre64):

he multed by 2 to clear the fraction; thats fine

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the only faux paux was in using his numbers from the factorind as tho they were actually the values for 'x'

OpenStudy (mathteacher1729):

Indeed. Well it's too late. Nighty night all.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Have a good night Math Teacher Thank You for all of your help.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

math teacher can u help me with something

OpenStudy (amistre64):

bonez; you understand the error now?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think so. But how do I not use the factored numbers as my x value?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

(x-3)(x+10) = 0 is good; but you say x=-3, x=10 which is not correct

OpenStudy (amistre64):

(x-3) = 0; when x=-3 ??? no

OpenStudy (amistre64):

(x+10) = 0; when x=10???? no

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But then how would I find x? Sorry I know i'm hopeless.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

x-3 = 0 when x = ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x = 10?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It would be when x =3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3 - 3 = 0

OpenStudy (amistre64):

correct; do you see the difference between that answer and the one you wrote in your paper?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes I do. Thank You so much!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can one of u guys help me
