there are 200 seniors and 100 womens invited to a party, if one women, will shake hands with a senior for 2 times, and if everyone should handshake atleast one time, (seniors shake hands with other seniors and womens shake hands with outher seniors too) how many handshakes would be in that party??
senior to senior; eh.... 200(199)/2
well, lets try that with the total for starters; 300(299)/2 is everyone shaking hands once
yes
44850 for one go around then
then each woman has to shake hands with 200 old people again; so 100(200)
we should calculate senior to senior, women to women, senior to women and then we should sum then all and then we should eject something from this result,, but what?
thats a bit much work that way; total to total is 1 handshake per everyone right?
yeea
300(299)/2 = total round of hands once for everyone add 200(100) for the additional hands for the 100 womens
ok
44850 20000 ------- 64850 total in all
kk
makes sense?
yess now we do 64850 - a n b??
1 persons shakes 200 hands; 200 another person shakes the same hands; +200 another person shakes the same hands; +200 100 people shake the same 200 hands: 100(200) = 20000 handshakes for that part
lets try the everyone shakes with everyone part on a small scale now...
ok
10 people shake each others hands; 10.987654321 <-10th person shakes hands with all; 9 hands 9.87654321 <- 9th person shakes hands with all, except for the 10th, its already been done; so, 8 hands 8.7654321 <- same logic; 7 hands 7.654321 6.54321 5.4321 4.321 3.21 2.1 1.0 add up all the shakes? 9+8+7+6+5+4+3+2+1+0 = 45 total 10(9) 90 ---- = --- = 45 hands total, same amount right? 2 2
300 total people shake hands: 300(299) -------- = total hands 2
44850 <- total hands for all peoples once 20000 <- total extra for the women hands to seniors ------- 64850 <- total in all
okay got it ^^
