does any body know how to do this prob.\[1<2y+5\le9\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's ok, Chloe! ok for this secton one, you start by subtracting 5 from all the parts. \[1-5<2y+5-5<9-5\] \[-4<2y<4\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then you aren't quite done yet - you have a 2y in the middle and you need to have JUST a y, so you divide all three parts by 2.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[-4/2<2y/2 <4/2\] -2<y<2
